Paul Crewe é um ex-astro do futebol americano preso por dirigir bêbado uma noite. Ele é enviado para a Penitenciária Allenville, uma das prisões mais cruéis do país. Quando o diretor do presídio pede para Crewe montar um time para jogar contra os guardas da prisão, Crewe convoca Caretaker, um negociante malandro que pode conseguir para os prisioneiros o que eles quiserem. Os dois conseguem montar o Mean Machine, um dos times mais loucos já vistos para jogar!
